In short
VaultCube is built so that we collect as little as possible. Your photos, videos and keys stay on your device, encrypted. You don’t create an account, and we don’t show ads.
Who is responsible
Luminativ · Munich · Germany (support@vaultcube.app) is the controller for the data described here. Full company details are in the Impressum.
What we never collect
- The contents of your vaults: photos, videos, file names, notes
- Your unlock pattern, your recovery phrase, or any key derived from them
- Your name, email address or phone number (there is no account)
- Your contacts, location or advertising identifier
What the app may send
Analytics. Anonymous usage and crash data, on by default, with an off switch in Settings. Never vault contents.
Crash reports. Crash reports are sent with the anonymous analytics above and use the same off switch. They never include vault contents.
Feedback you send. If you write to us, we receive your message and the email address you use, and keep them only to answer you.
Backups
Encrypted vault backups are stored in your private iCloud. We can’t read them, and we have no access to your iCloud account.
Purchases
Purchases go through Apple. We receive confirmation that a purchase is valid, not your payment details or Apple ID.
The website
The website counts page views and clicks on the Download buttons with PostHog, without cookies and without storing anything on your device. Only if you accept in the cookie banner, it also loads Google Analytics, and both tools then set analytics cookies (Google’s “_ga”, PostHog’s “ph_”) so a later visit can be counted as the same visitor. Advertising features stay off and nothing is used to track you across other sites. If you reject, or don’t choose, Google Analytics never loads and the only cookie is “vc_consent”, which remembers your choice for 6 months. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page; withdrawing deletes the analytics cookies.
Download waitlist. While VaultCube is in App Store review, you can leave your email in the download popup. We use it only to send you the App Store link once, then delete it. No newsletter, no sharing.
Third parties
| Service | What for | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Apple (App Store, StoreKit, iCloud) | Distribution, purchases, encrypted backup | Per Apple’s policy |
| PostHog | Anonymous app analytics and crash reports; website page views | Events without vault contents; on the website, a cookie only with your consent |
| Google (Google Analytics) | Website page views and Download clicks (only with cookie consent) | Visit data and the “_ga” cookie; no advertising |
| Web3Forms | Delivers support messages and waitlist sign-ups to our inbox | What you type in the form |
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to processing, and complain to a supervisory authority. Because we hold almost nothing that identifies you, most requests are answered by “we have no data about you”. Write to support@vaultcube.app.
Children
VaultCube is rated 4+ on the App Store. It has no account and never asks for a name, email address or other personal information, so it collects none from children either. Parents can turn off the anonymous usage and crash data in the app’s Settings.
Changes
We post changes on this page with a new date. For a material change, we also mention it in the app.
