Every photo, video and note is sealed with AES-256-GCM before it is stored in the vault, each file under its own key. Without your pattern or recovery phrase, the files are noise.
A recovery phrase for every vault
Nine words open your vault if you forget your pattern, and restore it from your encrypted backup on a new iPhone. They are your spare key. We can't reset it, because we never have it.
